History – Affidea in Greece
In Greece, Affidea has a long-standing presence and proven track record in delivering the highest quality care. Since 2005, Affidea has operated a nationwide network of diagnostic centres in Greece, working in partnership with EOPYY, public healthcare funds, and private insurers to ensure broad patient access.
Affidea’s nuclear medicine departments in Greece consistently earn European accreditation from the UEMS/EBNM, reflecting a deep and ongoing commitment to diagnostic excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. Notably, the Heraklion center is recognized as a European training site, underscoring Affidea’s leadership in clinical quality and its role in furthering medical education.
In 2025, Affidea announced Affidea neuraCare Athens as its flagship Centre of Excellence in neurology. Affidea neuraCare centers will expand across Europe, with an initial target of seven facilities.
Clinical Trials
Affidea’s internationally awarded clinical excellence, with certifications and accreditations across all medical specialties, combined with its broad geographical reach, makes the Affidea Group the preferred healthcare partner for leading pharmaceutical companies, medical institutions, AI organizations, and medical device manufacturers – both in Greece and internationally.
Our extensive pan-European network spans 15 countries and includes over 420 medical facilities, with 23 specialized and integrated Clinical Research Centers operating in 7 of these countries. This network is organically integrated into Affidea’s existing healthcare services, allowing us to offer Clinical Research as a Care Option – a natural extension of daily clinical practice.
In Greece, the Clinical Research Department has been active since 2014 and manages dozens of ongoing studies. Our research supports fields such as – among others – Alzheimer’s disease, melanoma, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, multiple sclerosis, spondyloarthritis, and malignancies including breast, lung, prostate, and colorectal cancer.
